2023 Honda Hr-v Sport Configurations

2023 Honda Hr-v Sport Configurations – Honda’s smallest vehicle is getting a much-needed redesign. As it’s scheduled to start arriving at dealerships, Honda has released more information about pricing, engine specs and features on the new 2023 HR-V. We also know that the new version is significantly larger than its predecessor, approaching the compact CR-V and becoming one of the largest entrants to the subcompact-crossover segment. Starting at $24,895 and going up to $30,195 for the loaded model, the new HR-V is also slightly more expensive than before.

While the previous model shares its underpinnings with the Fit hatchback, the new HR-V rides on the same platform as the 11th-generation Civic. The wheelbase grows 1.7 inches and is 9.4 inches longer, just 2.3 inches shorter than the CR-V (a new CR-V is coming in 2023, but that could grow, too). Trunk volume hasn’t changed much, at 24 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 55 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Sadly missing is the highly adjustable folding rear seat of the previous HR-V, which allowed the lower cushions to fold down for longer items, although the rear seats still fold flat.

The HR-V’s standard powertrain, a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four, is shared with the Civic sedan and hatchback. It produces 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque — better than the old HR-V’s 141-horsepower 1.8-liter engine, but average numbers by the segment’s standards. A continuously variable automatic transmission is the only transmission choice, and front-wheel drive is standard with the $1,500 all-wheel drive.

Interior upgrades include a standard 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster and new infotainment software for the standard 7.0-inch center display and optional 9.0-inch screen. The clean dashboard design is similar to the Civic, with a center stack and cover for the air vents extending from the passenger side. There’s a new drive mode selector with Normal, Sport and Eco settings, and slope control is standard on the dashboard, despite the HR-V’s off-road appearance.

Honda claims EPA combined fuel economy ratings of 27 mpg or 28 mpg depending on configuration — slightly worse than the outgoing model, which gets combined ratings of 28-30 mpg. While Honda sells another version of the HR-V that comes standard with hybrid powertrains, we don’t think a hybrid version of the HR-V is headed to the US, with Honda only talking about hybrid variants in the near future. the redesigned CR-V and Accord, a new Civic hybrid to replace the Insight.

Trim levels include the LX, Sport and EX-L, with the Sport ($26,895) receiving 18-inch wheels and black exterior trim for visual contrast. Starting at $695, the EX-L comes with a leather interior and a larger touchscreen, among other features. 2023 HR-V models will begin arriving at Honda dealerships this month.

Honda called it the “year of the road,” considering that nearly all of its utility vehicles are in the midst of a refresh. The smallest ute in the Thatapon brand’s lineup includes the second-generation HR-V.

Honda Hr V Hybrid Review 2023

Although no longer equipped with the “magic seats” found on the original model, the 2023 Honda HR-V is larger on the outside and more spacious on the inside, offering surprising room for passengers and cargo.

The original Honda HR-V debuted in 2016 as the first in what has become an expanding field of subcompact crossovers. After quickly unpacking myself, the small footprint hid an unexpectedly spacious interior that allowed me to pack a surprising amount of “stuff” while helping my friend move into a new house.

Much of the credit goes to the HR-V’s “magic seats,” which can be folded, folded and split in various configurations to provide 40 inches of rear room and 58.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Unfortunately, that flexible seating system has been dropped from the 2023 HR-V. But Honda filled that void in another way.

While the original HR-V shares platforms with Honda’s subcompact Fit van, the new model is based on the same architecture as the 11th-generation Civic.

Honda Hr V: Choosing The Right Trim

It’s now 9.4 inches longer and 2.6 inches wider than before, with 1.7-inch longer wheels. Overall, the 2023 HR-V is 179.8 inches long, 72.4 inches wide and 63.8 inches tall.

When it comes to critical interior dimensions, it loses some space — but it still has 55.1 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seats are folded for a competitive segment. Rear passengers get 37.7 inches of legroom, which is more than my 6’2” frame.

Outside of its cabin, the 2023 Honda HR-V has a lot to recommend it, from a sleeker design, curvy power, improved ride and more interior details. That said, the first-generation HR-V feels like it’s in another class, where the connectivity can be disconnected for those who prefer the fast, urban feel.

Before teasing the new crossover in April, there was a lot of speculation about what Honda might do. Apparently, the automaker has decided to develop two different versions of the HR-V. There is a smaller model sold in some foreign markets, including Japan, that uses the smaller Fit platform, which is not sold there.

For America, the automaker embraced the idea that bigger is better. The move may be motivated, at least in part, by a desire to deal with one of its most direct rivals to the HR-V, the recently joined Toyota Corolla Cross. Regardless of the reason, we’ll have to see if first-generation Honda buyers like the swap.

The appearance will definitely be more attractive. Honda’s latest design theme features a more distinctive front end, grille, fascia and headlights. The sides have a more sculpted look, and the roof is coupe-like, although the rollover is gentler so as not to sacrifice rear headroom.

Inside, the HR-V is at least mildly luxurious. Depending on the model you choose, you can get French accents and metallic trim, while fellow journalist Larry Printz describes the cabin as “serviceable.”

The switch has a better feel – kudos to Honda for giving buyers some standard controls, including climate and audio, and reversing their decision to move almost everything to the infotainment screen.

The base model gives buyers a 7-inch color screen, while mid-range packages add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. The EX-L trim gets wireless versions of CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 9-inch high-definition touchscreen with Qi wireless smartphone charging.

The screen can be resized to make it easier to access your favorite apps. The EX-L also gets a better eight-speaker audio package.

For tech-savvy young buyers, the 2023 HR-V is expected to arrive, and you’ll find plenty of advanced safety equipment, especially for those looking for an affordable family vehicle. The crossover has an updated version of the Honda Sensing series.

It gets forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and active cruise control. But it now adds features like traffic jam assist, which helps keep your speed and lane below 45 mph. New traffic sign recognition and pedestrian recognition have also been improved.

Although it doesn’t have advanced driver assistance systems, the 2023 Honda HR-V also gets Hill Descent Control. While you probably won’t be doing any serious off-roading in this crossover, you will have to deal with a steep or crawling stomach. HDC lets you select a bottom speed between 2 and 12 mph that will keep you going without having to cycle between accelerator and brake.
